Workplace Writing

English as a Second Language (ESL)
This course is one of the courses in the Professional Business Communication Certificate program. This writing course is designed for internationally trained professionals who want to improve their written workplace communication skills. This course focuses on written communication in Canadian business and professional settings. It covers common workplace vocabulary, expressions, and writing techniques. Special attention is given to résumé writing, e-mails, business letters and other workplace documents. (36 Hours)

Critical English

English as a Second Language (ESL)
This course is one of the courses in the Professional Business Communication Certificate program. During the course, students will learn how to improve English skills, including comprehension, speaking, reading and writing in business context. Specific course outcomes include: learning to pronounce all of the vowel and consonant sounds audibly, to use more native-like pauses and speed to communicate more clearly, and to demonstrate mainstream professional speaking skills. Students will also practice and receive feedback on writing skills and learn to use linear organization to write concrete messages that are clear, concise, consistent, and consensus building. (25 Hrs)
