Learn English with Volunteer & Work Options Info Session

Learn about programs that help you improve your English while also offering Canadian work or volunteer  experience. These programs are for people with a CLB 3-5except for Habitat for Humanity.

There will be 3 presenters: 

1.) NorQuest: LINC Volunteer Pprogram & Language for Work Program 

LINC Voluinteer program: for CLB 5 - Students will balance in-class instruction with e-learning and volunteer work in the community.

Lanugage for Work Program: for CLB 3-5 -  Students will learn about your opportunities for employment, gain transferable skills for employment, develop more confidence to work in Canada, and acquire work experience that increases your English language skills with your workplace supervisor and coworkers. 

2.) Habitat for Humanity Volunteering 

Habitat for Humanity Edmonton builds safe and affordable homes for local families, but did you know that we can help you improve your resume?  We offer a comprehensive Work Experience program for adults in both construction and retail.  Join us to hear more about how volunteering can help you gain employment.

3.) Solomon College: Connection to Employment: For CLB 4-5 

The Connections to Employment program covers 4 occupational fields: customer service, merchandiser, butcher and baker. The program consists of Workplace Essential Skills, Work Specific Language, Workplace Safety and Work placement.
