How much is an assessment?

Assessments are free for Citizens and Permanent Residents. There is a fee for temporary residents in Canada.

Can I use this CLB test for my citizenship application?

No. The CLB-based tests which can be used for citizenship applications are IELTS and CELPIP general. LARCC’s CLB-based tests cannot be used for citizenship applications.

Do I need to bring anything to my assessment?

You MUST bring a Canadian federal government ID such as your permanent resident card, landing paper, Canadian citizenship certificate or passport. Drivers licenses and other provincial ID are NOT accepted.

Can I get my assessment results the same day?

Assessment results will be issued to clients directly after their assessment.

How often can I take an assessment?

An assessment can only be taken once every 12 months.

I've lost my assessment results, can I get a copy?

Duplicate assessment results can be issued, but you must come in person to our office with a Canadian federal government ID (permanent resident card, landing paper, Canadian citizenship certificate, or passport.)

I'm coming from outside the City of Edmonton, can I have my assessment on the same day?

Clients coming from areas outside the City of Edmonton can book an appointment with us over the phone. On the day of their test they will register on our system in the morning and have their assessment in the afternoon.
