Employment Readiness

This certificate program includes 9 weeks of classroom preparation for employment and 12 weeks of paid work experience for a total of 21 weeks. Must be 17 - 30 years old

LACE English Conversation Circles

The Learning and Community Enrichment (LACE) program offers free online conversation circles for newcomers at the beginner and intermediate level. There are over a dozen session times throughout the week.

STEP Program (Secondary Transitional English Program) (ESL5D)

English as a Second Language (ESL)
STEP provides a full-time program of intensive reading, writing, listening and speaking instruction for advanced ESL learners preparing to enter academic upgrading or post-secondary programs. This course also includes career and employment related preparation. Prerequisites: Successful completion of a full day intensive ESL program or placement based upon program testing and assessment.

Intensive ESL English (ESL5D)

English as a Second Language (ESL)

This full-time program offers six levels of English instruction, from CLB 4 to 6. Instruction is based on themes relevant to life in Canada. Improve speaking, reading, writing, listening and study skills. Receive training in employment skills and career planning.

LINC at Metro Continuing Education (Part-Time, Online)

LINC

This online part-time program is for all newcomers (permanent residents and refugees) in any location in Alberta. This LINC program is for CLB 1 to CLB 5. Students in the LINC program are provided with language training, settlement skills and assistance and orientation to the community and Canadian culture.
