Youth Employment Connections Program (CORE)

Employment Readiness
CORE: Connections, Opportunities, Relationships, and Employment is an employment program focused on assisting Youth in Care (ages 16-17) and Young Adults from Care (18+) transition into employment.
Vision: to provide a safe, inclusive space for Youth and Young Adults to grow their confidence, attitudes, knowledge and skills to positively impact their employment and career journey. 
Mission: Meet you where you’re at.

Program elements: 30+ employment preparation workshops; worksite tours, job shadowing, work exposure opportunities; community events; peer connections; career counselling; employer matching and follow-up support. 

CORE Lounge: come meet us at our youth-friendly service delivery site in downtown Grande Prairie

CORE Mobile: Our mobile unit travels within 500 km radius to rural and remote clients
 
NOTE: this is for Youth ages 16-17 currently in Government care or young adults ages 18+ formerly in government care

ONE-ON-ONE TUTORING

Academic Upgrading

CCI-LEX is now offering one-to-one tutoring at a special rate. Get online tutoring with experienced TESL-certified instructors, a flexible individual schedule, and customized content for your needs. Our teachers want to help you improve your English. We can provide training for general English, conversational English, business writing, pronunciation, test preparation, and more. Whatever you need CCI-LEX will help you reach your goals!

COMMUNICATION SKILLS FOR THE WORKPLACE

English as a Second Language (ESL)

The Communication Skills for the Workplace (CSW) Certificate is a language-based learning certificate program intended for international speakers of English working in the public or private sector, or for individuals looking to increase their employability by building their knowledge of workplace communications and cultural competencies. Earn a microcredential badge for each course taken. Available to group applicants only. No individual applications accepted.

Skills Enhancement for Newcomers

Employment Readiness

The program helps newcomers to Canada develop the skills, knowledge and practice unique to Canadian workplaces, enhancing their employment profiles.

LINC LITERACY AT CLAREVIEW REC CENTRE

LINC Literacy

This program offers Literacy (Foundation L to 4L). Students have the advantage of working with teachers who are specially trained for their literacy needs. This full-time program runs as follows: 

  • Morning Classes – Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 12:30 pm (Foundation L to 4L)
  • Afternoon Classes – Monday to Friday 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm (Foundation L to 3L)
  • Online Classes – Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm (CLB 3 & 4)
  • Childcare is not available at site for both full-time and part-time programs
