Grammar and Writing at NAIT

6 levels of courses range from a focus on fundamental communication skills to preparation and delivery of individual and group presentations, contributing to discussions in formal academic situations, and evaluating and synthesizing information from a variety of lectures. ESL at NAIT

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Enhance your writing and grammar, build confidence in speaking and pronunciation, and develop your academic reading and vocabulary skills. You will learn these skills in a practical, hands-on environment and experience Canadian classroom culture. NAIT offers 6 levels of ESL. Levels 1, 2, and 3 are foundation-building courses for high-beginner to intermediate learners. Levels 4, 5, and 6 build academic English skills of intermediate to advanced learners. The program includes courses in Writing & Grammar, Listening & Speaking, and Reading & Vocabulary. Each course is taught by a different instructor. This allows you to experience different teaching styles, an asset for the post-secondary Canadian classroom or the workplace. Full-time and part-time options are available during the day. Reading and Vocabulary at NAIT

English as a Second Language (ESL)

6 levels of courses are available and range from a focus on reading descriptive texts for information and instruction, and acquiring basic vocabulary to evaluating and critiquing texts, and applying strategies for the improvement of reading speed, comprehension, academic and professional vocabulary. Academic Grammar and Writing at NAIT

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Learn skills needed to write with confidence in academic settings. Learn structures and features of writing to communicate with coherence and unity. Practice structures and formats needed in a post-secondary context, including sentence structure, paragraph construction, and different types of essays. Writing with convincing analysis and interpretation, and demonstration of critical thinking will also be emphasized. With the skills developed in this course, you will be able to write with increased confidence in professional and academic settings. Online Registration is available for this course.
