Employment Readiness
Ballad’s customized training facility offers a range of innovative job preparation workshops, as well as practical experience in hospitality and carpentry skills, to individuals working through multiple barriers to employment.

Our dedicated Whitecourt team have over 25 years of combined experience and have been supporting some of the most vulnerable people from surrounding communities for over eight years.
We can connect you to over 30 employment preparation workshops including: career planning, stress management, overcoming career obstacles, effective communication, financial management, health & wellness; and safety certifications.

Ballad provides online training across North West Alberta. Call us to see if your area qualifies.

Beyond Food- Employment Support Program

Employment Readiness

The Beyond Food Program, based at Annex Building (11434 120 Street). Edmonton Food Bank provides various employment supports for free. The program can help with resume writing, job search techniques, interview practice, and more. The program also supports client in obtaining safety tickets and connects them with other organizations for further help and assistance. The program is by appointment only, open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Career Leap: Transition to Employment (Edmonton)

Employment Readiness

The Career Leap program assists clients with entering or re-entering the workforce. Provides employment preparation supports through individualized short-term training (workshops, job coaching, online courses) job placement, direct job matching, and unpaid work exposure. This program is for Edmonton residents who are transitioning into other industries, or shifting careers entirely; also for employers who are looking for trained staff. The length of this program is 16 weeks of Transition to Employment Services (TES). The intake for this program is continuous
